Things aren’t going so well for Senator Markey’s campaign.

How do we know? He’s suddenly gone full negative, swinging frantically at Joe any chance he gets and just making things up to see what sticks. You all have been around politics enough to know – that kind of strategy is the clear mark of a desperate candidate.

He’s also allowing a Super PAC (!!) to spend hundreds of thousands of untraceable dollars in his name. We need your help to fight back. Will you make a grassroots contribution today?

First, Senator Markey tried to say Joe isn’t a real progressive – even though we know Joe is a proud member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, supports Medicare for All and the Green New Deal, and has been endorsed by progressive leaders like Mark Pocan.

Then, Senator Markey tried to take personal shots at Joe’s early career – even though we know that Joe spent his 20s as a member of the Peace Corps, a Legal Aid volunteer, and a young lawyer who developed a purpose and a passion around how our justice system treats mental illness.

Ed Markey even claimed that Joe wants to give local law enforcement nuclear weapons – which is just a straight-up lie. Now, he is sending frantic emails to his supporters saying Joe is trying to buy the election with “his big-money war chest,” even though Ed Markey is the one with the Super PAC that’s spending hundreds of thousands in dark, outside money to prop him up.

This is exactly the kind of politics-as-usual that people are so fed up with. And it’s exactly why Massachusetts needs a change.

Our end-of-quarter deadline is just around the corner, and it is the last FEC End-of-Quarter deadline before our primary. That’s why it’s especially important to show that we are going to rise above Ed Markey’s nasty and desperate strategy – and that our grassroots movement is stronger than his cheap shots.
