family — Donald Trump’s first six months in office have
been an intentional assault on people of color, as well as our LGBTQIA+
siblings, folks with disabilities, and other marginalized people.
His administration’s attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion,
education, and affirmative action are all means to the same end: rolling
back our hard-earned civil rights. The harms are blunt so I’ll put it
bluntly: This is resegregation.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are not nice-to-haves. They are
essential. Because it’s essential to ensure that our babies are afforded a
better future than their ancestors were forced to endure. It is essential
that we fight discrimination and prejudice.
That’s why I proudly re-introduced a bill to codify equity across the
federal government and promote equal opportunity for all — especially
people of color, women, folks from rural communities, individuals with
disabilities, and everyone who has been systematically marginalized.
[ [link removed] ]I will not stand by as Trump and extremists Republicans resegregate
this country. Attacks on DEI are an attack on all of us. If you agree,
please chip in
$25 or
anything you can to help us continue to defend DEI and stop Trump from
rolling back our civil rights.

Back in 2022, I worked with the White House to announce an executive order
which launched a historic, whole-of-government effort to advance equity
across federal agencies. The key ideas in the Equity in Government Act
continue that important work.
On day one of his second term, Trump reversed this executive order. Since
then:
* I’ve been outspoken about Trump’s harmful executive actions on
diversity, equity, and inclusion, including the layoffs of DEI
employees.
* In February, I re-introduced H.R. 40 alongside Senator Cory Booker
which would finally address the lasting legacy of slavery and put us
on a path toward reparations for African American descendants of
enslaved people.
* I’ve consistently called out Trump’s attacks on Smithsonian museums
and Black history for what they are: Anti-Blackness on steroids. And
I’ve called for the investigation of his attempts to erase the
histories of marginalized communities.
Six months into Trump’s occupancy of the White House, and I’m not just
playing defense — I’m continuing to advance an affirmative vision for a
more equitable, inclusive America.
[ [link removed] ]I’m fighting for the dignity and humanity of every single person who
calls this country home. This fight is far from finished, and if you’re
with me, please pitch in
$25 or any
amount you can to strengthen our progressive movement.
In Solidarity,
Ayanna
