John,

On June 4, Robert Reich reached out to ask DFA members to join him in calling on Congress to ban the use of tear gas in the United States.

In the weeks since, tens of thousands of DFA members have responded, building grassroots support and public pressure to take this chemical weapon out of the hands of police departments across the country.

Now, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is leading this fight in Congress. She has introduced a bill to ban the use of tear gas by American police departments. It’s called the Prohibiting Law Enforcement Use of Chemical Weapons Act.

AOC is leading this charge on the inside, but she’s counting on overwhelming grassroots pressure to add co-sponsors to this crucial legislation and make it become law.

That’s where you come in. Will you add your name next to AOC’s as a Citizen Co-sponsor of the Prohibiting Law Enforcement Use of Chemical Weapons Act? We need to put pressure on Congress to take this chemical weapon off our streets >>

ADD YOUR NAME

Americans across the country are raising their voices, risking their personal safety, and taking to the streets to protest police violence against Black Americans.

Law enforcement has responded by using tear gas on American citizens. It’s a chemical weapon banned in war by the Geneva Protocol, and it has no place in our communities.

We need to take chemical weapons out of the hands of police.

If you agree, add your name now to become a Citizen-Cosponsor of AOC’s bill to ban the use of tear gas by law enforcement in the United States >>

Thank you for raising your voice today to take chemical weapons out of American communities.
