Folks, last night, Donald Trump took to Truth Social and called me a “sleazebag.”

Let me explain: the “blue slip process” is a Senate tradition which gives senators the ability to oppose the president’s judicial picks for our states. Right now, the Senate is in the middle of negotiating over 130 nominees.

Upset that my colleagues and I are using every tool in our toolbox to rein in Trump’s dangerous agenda, Trump went on a rampage, publicly pushing the chair of the Judiciary Committee to get rid of Senate norms and calling me, Tim Kaine, and a handful of other senators “SLEAZEBAGS” for doing our jobs.

If that’s what Trump considers “sleazebag” behavior, then so be it.

This is just another page from the Trump playbook: ignore checks and balances, bully Republicans into compliance with his dangerous agenda, and namecall his opponents to deflect and distract from the much more serious issues at hand.

I’m fighting like hell to hold Trump accountable, but if we want to contain his chaos and corruption, we need to flip the Senate blue. That starts with protecting my seat. Can I count on you to chip in to my reelection campaign today so we can take back the Senate for Democrats?
