Friend,

I believe there are no barriers too high if you want to achieve something – especially when you’re driven to make a difference in your community.

Watching my mother work as a secretary for our local band council in Waswanipi, I saw how people came to her for help and how she always showed up when it mattered most.

I remember thinking: I want to be like my mom.

And that inspiration guided my next steps – from going to university as a young mom, to becoming the first woman elected Grand Chief of Eeyou Istchee, and now, to representing Abitibi—Baie-James—Nunavik—Eeyou in Parliament.

But I do know that progress takes hard work, and a strong team behind you.

I’m proud to be part of a Liberal team that is focused on delivering real results for people and communities across the country – whether that’s delivering a middle class tax cut, strengthening $10-a-day child care for young families, breaking down internal trade barriers, expanding the Canadian Dental Care Plan, and much more.
