The SAVE Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act) is a commonsense bill that would require individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections. It closes loopholes in current law that allow noncitizens to register and even vote simply by checking a box. The SAVE Act is a critical step toward restoring integrity to our elections and ensuring that only American citizens vote.
