I want you to know that I don’t take your support for granted.

It’s because of thousands of folks like you – telling a neighbor about our campaign, volunteering, or donating when you can – that I’m in Congress fighting for working families like yours.

Asking you to chip in your hard-earned money to keep our re-election campaign running strong is my least favorite part about my job. Especially when we’re closing in on key deadlines like tomorrow’s end-of-month benchmark.

That’s why right now, I’m only asking you to chip in $1. Four quarters today is enough to make a difference – will you chip in, then let me explain why?

In the last six months, we’ve seen an exhausting amount of extreme actions from the Trump White House.

I’m fighting tooth and nail to protect Central and Southern Illinois, and I’m deeply concerned about the millions of working families who stand to lose their health care and food assistance – just so billionaires get a tax break.

Despite the negative coverage and devastating impact on Illinoisans, we’re finding a way to push back successfully. Earlier this week, the Trump Administration finally released federal funding for education after I helped put on the pressure.

There is a glimmer of hope: If we keep this seat blue, Democrats have a fighting chance to control the House majority next year and put an end to the MAGA agenda.

So we can’t slow down for a second: I already have two GOP challengers in this race, and the national GOP is attacking me in the hopes of flipping IL-13 back to red.

But if even half of everyone reading this email chipped in $1, we’d soar past our July fundraising goal and stay on track to keep this seat blue. Will you chip in $1 or any amount today?
