Hi John -- it’s Elizabeth Warren. I’m emailing today to talk with you about my endorsement of Rep. Matt Cartwright and why I’m asking if you can donate $10 or $15 to his campaign.
Washington is filled with lots of people who say you can’t do this, you can’t do that. It seems like some people run for office just to talk about all the things that can’t be done. Not Matt. He’s been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 epidemic, proposing new and innovative ways to fight for working families through this challenging time.
He championed hazard pay for our essential workers -- which I am very glad to say passed the House as part of the HEROES Act. He’s advocated for more direct payments to Americans, and he was one of the first to sound the alarm about COVID-19 in prisons.
Matt Cartwright has done a phenomenal job representing northeast Pennsylvania, and he’s never backed down. But that’s attracted some pretty powerful rivals. He’s been bombarded by outside dark money, and Donald Trump himself visited Matt’s district to try to flip it red.
We need to make sure Matt gets re-elected. And, John, I have a plan for that.
It’s simple: Grassroots power over special interest power. Main Street power over Wall Street power. And it all starts with you. If you’re in a place to make a donation now, will you chip in $10 or $15 to Matt’s campaign?
Trump won this district by 9 points in 2016, but that hasn’t scared Matt off from fighting the tough fights for American workers. Now this is one of the most critical swing seats of 2020, and we can’t afford to lose this seat, or Matt’s tremendous leadership.
That’s why I’m asking you personally if you can pitch in $15 or whatever you can to Matt’s campaign. Side by side, let’s send Matt back to Congress.
