These are uncertain times for all of us, and especially
for small business owners. But creative entrepreneurs are finding ways not
only to adapt to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, but to use their
skills for the greater good.
In Somalia, Mercy Corps’ vocational training has helped young people gain
tailoring skills — they are now sewing and selling protective masks for
their community. In Jordan and Lebanon, our small business programs have
helped textile industry entrepreneurs to pivot operations by adding masks
to their offerings.
And in Nepal, young women like Rajani are not letting lockdowns slow them
down. After building her own tailoring shop — with skills gained through
Mercy Corps’ educational program — Rajani has embarked on sewing masks for
her community’s mental health facility.
Until tomorrow at midnight, you can make a tax-deductible gift as part of
our $30,000 Tripadvisor Foundation Matching Gift Challenge. [ [link removed] ]Right now,
will you help us raise $30,000 and match this generous support from the
Tripadvisor Foundation?

Local efforts to help communities are as essential as they are inspiring.
Communities flourish when they are healthy and have access to resources,
which is why all of us must unite and help our global community.
Our teams are working to expand comprehensive market-based solutions to
local economies affected by the pandemic, providing grants and working
with lenders to lower payments. When you join us, your generous support
can help young people like Rajani prepare for and recover from the
economic shocks that can push people further into crisis.
Whatever you’re able to give can make a difference. [ [link removed] ]By donating during
the Tripadvisor Foundation Matching Gift Challenge, you can help us make
twice the impact for young people and millions of others as they face the
devastating effects of COVID-19 and other crises.
Even during this pandemic there is possibility. Together, we can make a
real impact for people living in crisis. If you can, [ [link removed] ]please make a
