Save the Date for Labor Day and August Saturdays
We are planning our next mass mobilization for Labor Day: Monday, September 1st, to uplift our struggles against fascism, oligarchy, and the MAGA regime.
And in the lead-up to our mass mobilization, along with 50501 SF, we are planning smaller events every Saturday in August. Here are the first two:
- Saturday, August 2: Banner Against the Regime with 50501SF, 2-3:30 PM on the pedestrian bridge over Geary St at Webster St. Bring signs, banners and flags. Info here.
- Saturday, August 9: Draw Together: Childrens’ sign-making party, 10:30-12 PM at Ocean View Branch Library. Children can make signs for the Labor Day March or write or draw letters to Congress, with a few words of assistance from their parents. We will mail letters to the proper Member of Congress. Your child might even receive a personal letter from their Representative or Senator. Space is limited; RSVP here.

What You Can Do to Support Federal Workers Under Assault From the Trump Regime
Labor Day is an opportunity to celebrate workers and the unions that represent them. This celebration should include the unions that represent employees of the federal executive branch agencies as well.
Federal employee unions protect the workers in the civil service who provide public services that Americans everywhere rely on. These protections include scheduling, advocacy for employees in disputes, protections against workplace-transmitted illnesses like COVID-19, and more.
Small wonder that the Trump regime is now attacking these Federal employee unions.

Keep fighting against ICE: on the federal and local level
Recently some California officials have been worrying in public that the No Secret Police Act, which our State Senator Wiener introduced and is fighting for, is unenforceable. We say: pass it anyway, and fight for it in court. In order to stop fascism, our officials must not comply in advance. They must do everything possible to support their constituents and keep our communities safe.
Continue pressuring your officials on the No Secret Police Act - tell them: no excuses!
And here are some more laws to watch in Congress and in the State Assembly.
A Win! Your Advocacy Ended Shelter Evictions and Gained $30 Million in New Rental Subsidies
We are pleased to announce that after six months of intense advocacy, the Faith In Action Bay Area Homeless Families Committee and their allies recently won an end to the City’s experimental policy of evicting families from homeless shelters after 90 days, and $30 million in new investments in the City Budget to house homeless families and young adults!
Thank you to all our Indivisible SF members who contacted their supervisors, attended press conferences, gave public comment, and attended the Faith In Action Bay Area Homeless Families Committee meetings. We are grateful to have worked alongside other supporters and advocates including: Supervisors Fielder (D9), Chan (D1), Chen (D11) and their staff; United Educators of San Francisco (UESF), the Coalition on Homelessness, medical professionals, social workers, and countless other concerned citizens.

Congratulations to Brad and Travis for another successful Human Banner!
Brad Newsham and Travis Van Brasch organized another human banner at Ocean Beach this past Saturday. The message this time was “We are familia!”, and you can see it here. Direct Action Event Monitoring: We need your help!
At every protest, we always want as many safety monitors as we can get to help keep our actions peaceful. And that’s never been more true and more important than at last month’s No Kings march, where roughly 100,000 people filled the streets.
We’ll have more protests in the future. Please volunteer to be a safety monitor for our next action. We can train you—it takes about 90 minutes. It's a simple, usually fairly chill, and essential job that helps keep our actions safe for all participants.
As pro-democracy, anti-authoritarian movements depend on nonviolence for success and as the US movement grows and potentially provokes authoritarian backlash, we encourage you to join in this vital work at our future actions. Read more on our blog.

If you would like to join and do important work with us, we welcome you! Currently we are in need of volunteers to help with the following:
- Editing submissions to our newsletter (Mondays and Tuesdays).
- Making artwork for our calls to action, blog posts, and other projects.
- Publishing our newsletter with MailChimp and helping update our website on Newsletter Night (Tuesdays at 5 PM).
- Making short-form videos to help educate people on our topics in an accessible way.
- Tracking federal, state, and local legislation and working with our state and local legislatures and Mayor Lurie.
- Organizing our protests and other in-person actions and scheduling our in-person meetings.
