John,
Today marks the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Medicare and Medicaid Act. Saturday was the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These aren’t just dates. They’re legacies to uphold – and we refuse to allow those legacies to be dismantled.
That is why we came together to show that we demand better for our families and communities. At our 60-hour Protect Medicaid Vigil last week, and at hundreds of Families First rallies all over the country on Saturday, we honored those legacies – and we made it clear that we won’t give up on our fight to protect the future of care.
John, your donation today can help power the fight ahead. Even $5 can help further our efforts to protect Medicaid and care programs across the country.

When Congress made vicious cuts of over a trillion dollars – jeopardizing the very programs our families rely on so they could give tax breaks to billionaires – we knew we needed to organize and transform our fear and anger into action.
Throughout the 60-hour vigil, we shared our stories, took action to hold our elected leaders accountable, and raised our voices as one to call for a nation rooted in care, not cruelty.
Then, on Saturday, we joined Families First, a nationwide day of action with 225 peaceful marches, rallies and events across the country, to come together and say: Our families come first, and we will protect each other.
This past week was a declaration, and a commitment: we will not get over this, and we will not go quiet.
Together, we are demanding a care system that truly protects and honors all of us, no matter income, background, or zip code. If lawmakers claim to care about families, they must undo this harm.
Now is the time to take bold action. This is how we build a future rooted in care, not cruelty. Your donation of any amount can help us build that future.
Thank you for everything you do – together, I know we can build a more caring world.
With care,
Ai-jen Poo, Executive Director
