Friend,

I need to be real with you.

I’m being outraised by a candidate who doesn’t even live in this district. And that’s because every cycle, people in D.C. think this seat is for sale.

But here’s the truth — I’ve got something they don’t.

I’ve got people power. I’ve got the youth. The disaffected. The folks who’ve gone without — who hear my message and feel seen. I’ve had so many people come up to me at town halls and community events and say, “I’ve never heard someone speak like that. You’re giving me hope again.”

But the tough part? Most of those people are working two or three jobs just to make ends meet. They’re living on fixed incomes. They’re spending everything they have on housing, food, and childcare. They’d give the world — but they simply can’t afford to.

I get it. I really do.

I hate money in politics. Always have. And when I get to Washington, I’m not going to forget where I came from or who sent me there. I’ll fight like hell to:

  • Overturn Citizens United
  • Pass public election financing
  • And make politicians earn your vote again — not earn the backing of Wall Street and corporate America

But right now, I’ve got to meet a brutal end-of-month fundraising deadline.

July’s always rough — people are out of town, budgets are tight, and it’s easy for grassroots campaigns like mine to fall behind. And we can’t afford that.

Our entire campaign budget is built off small-dollar donations — not PAC checks, not D.C. consultants. When you give $10 or $20, that goes straight toward gas for town halls, printing flyers, connecting with voters face to face. Even $5 means the world to me.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thank you for sticking with me. This campaign is about all of us — and we’re going to shock some people next year.
