Plans are underway to honor Kathy Kozachenko, the first openly gay person in the United States to be elected to public office when she won an Ann Arbor City Council seat back in 1974. A life-sized statue of Kozachenko will soon be featured at Larcom City Hall in Ann Arbor, and the community can participate in this effort as well.
