Dear Friend --

The energy crisis among people experiencing poverty is likely to get much worse, with utility bills in many cities rising out of reach for the majority of America’s poor.  Experts warn the problem will worsen over the next decade.

Many Ohioans face this problem, and risk disconnection or losing their homes if they can't pay. Yet, states are letting their electricity disconnection bans lapse.

Ohio Citizen Action, along with more than 50 organizations representing nearly 100,000 Ohioans, demand that Governor Mike DeWine and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) guarantee access to utilities and affordable, clean energy for the duration of this pandemic and beyond.

We need commitments to develop affordable, clean energy sources that better protect public health and consumers.

Your activism makes an impact. All the signatures, phone calls and social media posts from members like you helped us get a meeting with the PUCO yesterday. We're proud to represent you and all Ohioans in talks with state regulators.

Staying silent hurts everyone. That’s why we depend on you, our members. To meet this challenge will take all of us working together. We're ready, but we can't do it without you. Please make a contribution to support our work.

Will you show your support a contribution today?

Thank you for standing up for energy justice.

Be well and stay safe.

P.S. We know not everyone can give at this time. But if you’re able, your gift – of any size – is much appreciated and will help us advocate for Ohioans struggling to pay their utility bills. Please give today.
