First, the DCCC announced that Missouri’s second congressional district was one of their critical 2026 Districts in Play. That was a big deal, considering the district hadn’t been targeted nationally since 2020.
Then, PPP polling showed that a generic Democrat could defeat incumbent Ann Wagner AND that her approvals were underwater. This was the clearest sign yet that we really could take back MO-02 in 2026.
Now, Donald Trump has endorsed Ann Wagner — more than a year out from the election. The GOP is terrified that they could lose MO-02 next year, so they’re unifying together and taking action NOW to keep this seat under their thumb.
