Especially these days, internet access is critical.
Yet, many towns and neighborhoods across North Carolina have been left without broadband, which people needed for school, work, and access to important resources like unemployment relief.
I am leading a coalition of 39 state AGs to demand that Congress take action to expand broadband access in the next relief bill.
Broadband is the critical infrastructure of the 21st century and has only become even more important during this time of crisis. Millions of people now rely on internet connectivity for everything from work to healthcare.
Congress must act now. The digital divide only exacerbates inequality in our state -- and across America. There is no reason why we cannot make a change.
I will continue to do everything in my power to ensure that every person has equal access to these critical resources.
Thank you for your help.
