Partners,
In the last election, voters across the country sent a very clear message to lawmakers: prioritize affordability and lower health care costs. And yet, as you know, the Republican health care cuts that were signed into law did the exact opposite.
Congress’ Republican health care cuts will lead to millions of consumers losing coverage, massive spikes in health care premiums, and the closure or corporate capture of the few independent rural hospitals we have left. And what's more, this legislation wholly failed to address the root causes driving unaffordable health care for decades, including the health care industry's unchecked consolidation, anticompetitive practices and price gouging, which has led to reduced access to care, worse health outcomes and lower wages for workers.
Quite simply, Congress is failing our nation's families. We must hold it accountable both for the passage of the Republican health care cuts, and for the need to enact solutions to lower health care costs for our nation's families, right now.
We need your help to do both. |
We urge you to join us in the fight to rein in the big health care corporation abuses driving unaffordable health care by taking these key actions: |

Between now and this Thursday, engage members of the Senate HELP Committee on the need to act on key affordability reforms as the Committee is hosting a hearing July 31 on "Making Health Care Affordable: Solutions to Lower Costs and Empower Patients." Our affordability agenda and 2-pager provide framing on pro-consumer health care affordability reforms. Price transparency, commercial market honest billing, and anticompetitive contracting reforms all fall within HELP jurisdiction.

Join us at our August Consumers First coalition meeting on Thursday, August 7, at 3pm ET, where we’ll chart a path forward. You’ll hear from national and state partners about how we can keep the pressure on Congress to pass key pro-consumer policy reforms that will lower the cost of health care, including price and billing transparency legislation and same service, same price legislation. You can register to attend here.
- Coming soon! Over August recess, we'll be circulating a sign-on letter to Congressional leadership demanding action on bipartisan policies that improve transparency, address rising industry consolidation and anticompetitive behaviors, and lower health care costs. Stay tuned for more on this and other recess resources in the coming weeks.

Register to attend our administrative advocacy webinar on Thursday, August 28, at 1pm ET, where we will discuss the proposed Trump administrative changes to hospital and physician payment that both advance important policy changes to rein in industry abuses and increase payment for primary care but also that repeal critical requirements to advance health equity, and opportunities to join federal comment letters. You can register to attend here.
