Hi there,
I wish that running for office didn’t require so much fundraising.
At a time when the cost of living is too high and people are scared about the future, I wish I didn’t have to ask for money so many times.
But I do, and here’s why.
National Republicans have made my district a top target. They’ve already spent money running negative ads against me. As one of just 13 House Democrats in the country to represent a district that President Trump also won, defeating me will be one of their top priorities.
I’d much rather spend my time solving problems and getting things done in Congress than asking for money. That’s why I’ve been focused on tackling some of the biggest issues we face today. I introduced bipartisan legislation on expanding employee stock ownership, fixing the immigration system, and more.
But—we’re just 2 days away from our end-of-month fundraising deadline. What we raise before midnight on the 31st will determine whether we start August strong, or fall behind just as the attacks ramp up.
I’m in this race to fight for Long Island and Queens. To push for common-sense solutions on the issues that matter most. And to make sure that everyone can buy a house, pay for health insurance, send their kids to college, and retire without being scared.
But I can’t do it without grassroots support. So I’m asking: Will you chip in before the deadline and help us stand strong?
