** Updates from Tuesday's MCYD Meeting

During our June meeting, MCYD members discussed several important topics, including today's NJYD Summit, the upcoming Executive Board elections, our Financial Literacy Course, and our plans on BLM and policing in New Jersey. Minutes from that meeting will be made available in advance of our next meeting.
NJ Young Democrats Summit
The New Jersey Democratic State Committee has partnered with the New Jersey Young Democrats, the College Democrats of New Jersey and the New Jersey High School Democrats to host a Young Democrats Summit today, Thursday, June 25 from 4-6 PM. The event will include presentations on racial justice, health care, immigrants’ rights, and environmental justice, and will feature a special guest appearance from Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver. MCYD Executive Board Elections
MCYD Executive Board Elections are coming up! The vote will take place on Thursday, July 30th. All MCYD members in good standing are eligible to run for seats on the Executive Board ([link removed]) and to vote on July 30th. If you are interested in running for the MCYD executive Board, you must announce your slate by Tuesday, June 30th. As of now, one slate has announced intentions to run. The slate is as follows: Ore Obiwumi for President, Erin Byrnes for Vice President, and Hait Leuva for Treasurer.

Our Financial Literacy Course
The MCYD Financial Literacy Course, hosted by Julian Quintanilla,started last Thursday ([link removed]) with a session about understanding your financial picture and building a budget. The next session will take place on Thursday, July 2nd at 7 PM and will focus on savings and credit usage. We will send the Zoom signup link for that session in advance.
Advocating for Changes in NJ and Local Policing Policies
The Morris County Young Democrats stands with the Black Community and is committed to using our platform to advocate for change. That's why we will be working to push our elected officials at the state and local levels to improve police practices within their communities. We will be sending updates and details about these activities in the coming days.
