Summer of action for Gaza
Gazans are suffering from famine because of nuclear-armed Israel’s blockade but the British government still hasn’t taken the decisive action to help bring it to an end. Earlier today, CND and the Palestine Coalition was outside Downing Street, as Keir Starmer recalled ministers from summer recess for an emergency cabinet meeting. Throughout August, there are a number of actions being organised to help build pressure for an end to British arms sales to Israel, an end to British spy flights and intelligence sharing with Israel, and to end its support for Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.
1 August: Stop Starving Gaza – Pots and Pans protests. Local actions are once again taking place this Friday, 1 August from 6pm. Please check here for actions near you.
9 August: National March for Palestine. The next national march for Palestine in Central London coincides with Nagasaki Day. If you are attending the earlier demonstration, you are invited to join the ecumenical service and Peace Walk to the London Peace Pagoda in Battersea later that evening, remembering the victims of conflicts past and present.
16 August: Protest at RAF High Wycombe. This RAF base provides support for Britain’s spy flights and air operations which have assisted Israel’s genocide of Palestine. Save the date, more details TBA.
