Hey,

I wanted to follow up on our recent poll asking who you’d like to see replace Mississippi’s two confederate statues within the U.S. Capitol.

Well, my team tallied up the answers and the results are in! You already know my pick (replace JZ George with Father of the Blues, BB King!), but the top three Mississippi legends that folks would like to see honored in the Capitol are Medgar Evers, Fannie Lou Hamer, and Elvis Presley.

There’s been a ton of energy around our little poll, and for good reason. Any of these three icons would be better representations of the Magnolia State than the statues of Jefferson Davis and JZ George in the U.S. Capitol.

I promise if I’m elected to become your next U.S. Senator, I will do whatever I can to change these statues.

Mississippi deserves a leader who will truly represent our changing state and stand up against old symbols of hatred and white supremacy.

If you agree, pitch in $10 or whatever you can toward our $200,000 end-of-quarter goal to help send me to the Senate, where I’ll fight for the change Mississippians want and deserve.
