1. After Cal Cunningham surged into the lead in North Carolina, Republicans started booking outrageous sums of money to attack him — now more money has been invested to go after Cal than any other Democratic Senate candidate so far this year.

2. Now, Cal still leads but multiple polls released in recent weeks show a margin as tight as one percent. This is likely going to be one of the closest races in the country this year.

3. The stakes in North Carolina are high — Joe Biden is ahead of Donald Trump, and it’s likely to be the “tipping point” state in the race to take back the Senate. So we need to invest heavily to defend Democratic candidates like Cal and turn North Carolina blue.
