I’m running for one reason above all: Too many Nevadans are working harder than ever and still getting nowhere, and I know we can change that.

I’ve spent my career fighting for families like mine because I’ve lived what so many people are facing right now. I come from a family that worked hard but struggled. Some nights, all we had to eat were stale candy bars.

I became a dad during college, and a single dad not long after. I relied on food stamps and Medicaid to keep going. But I didn’t give up. I kept fighting.

I became a public school math teacher. I earned five degrees. I raised four boys with my wife, Berna. I ran for State Senate, then became Majority Leader, then Attorney General – and every step of the way, I’ve carried one mission with me: To fight for the Nevada Family.

While I’ve been fighting to make life safer and more affordable for every Nevadan, Trump Republican Joe Lombardo has done the opposite – blocking housing reform, vetoing school meals and lower drug prices, and cheering on Donald Trump’s plan to gut education and health care. Unemployment is up, costs are through the roof, and working people are getting squeezed. Nothing’s gotten better under his watch – and that’s why I’m running to unseat him.
