President Trump has successfully pressured Governor Abbott to call a special session to redraw Congressional maps in an attempt to net them five new Republican seats through the mid-decade redistricting process.

Let’s be clear: this is a blatant power grab. If Trump and the GOP succeed, they could change seats from blue to red before Texans even have a chance to vote .
Texas already has one of the most gerrymandered maps in the country. Now, Texas Republicans are doubling down—using out-of-state political operatives to undermine voters, especially minority voters, and silence the voices of millions of Texans.
