John,

Since October 2023, the Israeli government has severely restricted the amount of food, water, medical supplies, and other aid allowed to enter Gaza.

As a result, the people of Gaza are starving — they have been for months on end, and it’s getting so bad that the mainstream media and Democratic establishment are finally paying attention.

This man-made famine is worsening by the day, with the World Health Organization reporting that 1 in 5 children under the age of five years old in Gaza are malnourished.

Tweet by World Health Organization: Malnutrition is on a dangerous trajectory in the Gaza Strip, marked by a spike in deaths in July. Of 74 malnutrition-related deaths in 2025, 63 occurred in July—including 24 children under five, a child over five, and 38 adults. Most of these people were declared dead on arrival at health facilities or died shortly after, their bodies showing clear signs of severe wasting. The crisis remains entirely preventable. Deliberate blocking and delay of large-scale food, health, and humanitarian aid has cost many lives. Nearly one in five children under five in #Gaza City is now acutely malnourished, as reported by Nutrition Cluster partners. Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM), which measures the percentage of children aged 6–59 months suffering from acute malnutrition, has tripled since June, making it the worst-hit area in the Gaza Strip.

With each day that passes, more Palestinians are dying of starvation, and Israeli forces are continuing to shoot and kill hundreds of hungry Palestinians seeking aid. We’re watching the final stages of a genocide unfold before our eyes.

Al Jazeera Live Updates: Israel kills more than 60 in Gaza as starvation outrage rises. Israeli forces open fired on Palestinians waiting for food at sites in Gaza, killing at least 26 and wounding many others, with more than 60 dying in attacks since dawn.

As we keep building public pressure on U.S. leaders to take action to end the blockade and stop Israel’s war crimes in Gaza, you can help provide meals to hungry people in Gaza today.

After a five-day pause due to a lack of supplies, limited cooking operations at World Central Kitchen’s Deir al-Balah Field Kitchen have resumed this week.
