The COVID-19 pandemic has killed more than 120,000 Americans, with over 40,000 of them seniors.
But new reporting shows that instead of protecting seniors, the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration joined GOP Senators Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler by making a series of investment decisions to personally profit off of the pandemic.
Saul purchased health care-related stocks, including with companies that manufacture COVID-19 test kits and PPEs between January 15 and March 16, just as the pandemic was setting in. And, just a couple of weeks later, Trump himself promoted these test kits in a Rose Garden address on March 30.1
Trump and Saul are long-time friends, dating back to their college years. And his appointment to head the Social Security Administration was fought by Social Security Works and our allies because of Saul’s past hostility to the program, and willingness to play fast and loose with the law.
It’s outrageous that any public official, especially one whose agency represents the interests of COVID’s worst victims, would profit off of the deaths of Americans.
Sign the petition demanding the immediate resignation of Andrew Saul as Social Security Administration Commissioner.
In Georgia, voters will have the opportunity on Election Day to determine Senator Loeffler’s fate.
Senator Burr faces investigations from the U.S. Justice Department and the Senate Ethics Committee.
It’s up to us to demand Commissioner Saul’s resignation.
