![]() Folks, we turned around Colorado’s economy when I was Governor. And before that, I helped open our state’s very first brewpub: Wynkoop Brewing Company. So I hope you’ll believe me when I say: Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs are devastating to our small business community. Since Trump incited this senseless trade war, small businesses across the nation — who already operate on strict budgets and tight margins — have been frozen in their tracks. So they’ve been forced to make tough decisions — like laying off hardworking staff, cutting business hours, or raising prices — just to get by. It’s even been reported that U.S. employers could lose up to $82 BILLION due to Trump’s trade lunacy. And here in Colorado, our cherished breweries are facing higher costs on materials like steel or aluminum, and especially imported malts and hops. This means more expensive craft beers — alongside so many other grocery price hikes — as manufacturing costs skyrocket. This is personal to me, folks. If I still ran Wynkoop today, there’s no doubt in my mind that Trump’s tariff-taxes would hit us hard. There’s no way in hell we would’ve risked buying a new brew kettle if we couldn’t predict how much our basic supplies would cost us just months down the line. And that’s the same calculation going through the heads of small business owners across Colorado. The bottom line is, these reckless tariff-taxes are costing Coloradans dearly. Trump’s trade war is simply unsustainable, and it needs to end — now. Folks, that’s why I’m running for re-election. With Trump in the White House ruling by fiat and pushing our economy towards a recession, it’s become that much more important that Democrats take back the Senate in 2026 to provide real oversight, and a real check on the president’s power.
