Republicans claim to hate “cancel culture,” but this week, they voted to cancel Big Bird.

No, that’s not a joke. The reconciliation bill they jammed through defunds public broadcasting, but it doesn’t just threaten educational programs like Sesame Street.

It also threatens life-saving weather alerts and funding for many New Mexico stations, which could force the trusted programming that rural families rely on off the air.

They want to cancel facts, cancel accountability, cancel anything that doesn’t serve their billionaire donors. But that won’t save them on Election Day.
