Small-scale farmers are the backbone of agriculture in the developing world -- but all too often they don't have the tools, training or livestock to earn a sustainable living. That puts their futures, and their children's futures, at risk.

Giving a family an animal gives them a hand up. In the countries where we work, receiving an animal is like receiving a small business, allowing farmers to earn sustainable income and support their families.

Even better, thanks to our Passing on the Gift model, the first offspring of each Heifer animal is passed on to a new family, changing lives across whole communities.
