It’s an ongoing joke in Harrisburg that June will not end — because the deadline for state lawmakers to pass the budget was the end of June. Today is June 58th.

The budget has been stalled by Senate leadership for more than two weeks. Schools, counties, and community groups are preparing for the possibility that they might not receive expected payments from the state starting in August.

Use our tool to tell Senate leadership to stop stalling. Tell them to pass the budget now and get lifesaving funding into our neighborhoods.

The PA House has already passed — with bipartisan support — a state budget that includes $76.5 million in violence prevention funding. This money could save thousands of lives! But with the budget stalled in the Senate, organizations that proactively prevent gun violence are unable to hire staff or plan programs. They might even have to make cuts.

We need a budget that funds community violence prevention, and we need it now.
