John,
Last weekend, I stood alongside Congressmen Joaquin Castro and Greg Casar, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, and State Representatives Gina Hinojosa and James Talarico to push back against the latest Republican power grab—an effort to rig our congressional districts and tilt the 2026 election in their favor.
Donald Trump and Texas Republicans are trying to steal the 2026 election by redrawing Texas’ congressional districts to flip five Democratic-held seats from blue to red.
Why? Because they know their policies—taking millions of people off Medicaid, transferring billions of dollars from working Americans to the wealthy, and sending thugs out to terrorize Americans—are deeply unpopular.
They can’t win on their ideas, so they’re trying to change the rules. Trump knows that unless he flips these seats, he’s unlikely to hold on to the House of Representatives.
And without a Republican majority in Congress, there’s a real chance he’ll finally be held accountable—for the crimes, the corruption, and the chaos he’s unleashed—and he’s terrified of facing the consequences.
That’s what makes this moment so important. If we fail to prevent this redistricting, and if we don’t organize to win a majority in the House, then the consolidation of authoritarian power in America will be nearly unstoppable.
This fight goes beyond maps. It’s about our democracy. And we can’t wait until 2026 to act.
We’ve got to go on the offensive—taking this fight to every county in Texas—to challenge this one-sided redistricting, win fair representation, and stop authoritarianism. And that starts here, right now, with all of us.
Grateful to be in this with you,
Beto
