Deadly Bacteria Found: City on High Alert! |

United States: The New York City Health Department has launched an urgent probe after five cases of Legionnaire’s disease were discovered in Harlem over the weekend. While no deaths have been reported, health officials are urging the public—especially vulnerable groups—to stay alert and take preventive steps.
The rare but potentially deadly illness, which mirrors pneumonia in its symptoms, has triggered concern due to its sudden appearance in the Manhattan neighborhood.
“If you’re feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms, don’t wait. See a doctor immediately,” said Dr. Toni Eyssallenne, the city’s deputy chief medical officer. “Early treatment is very effective, especially when diagnosed in time.”
