Dear Justice Seeker, On March 13, 2020, Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old Louisville EMT, was murdered by officers of the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department while sleeping in her bed. These officers executed a “no-knock” search warrant obtained with falsified documents. This egregious abuse of power resulted in three officers unloading more than twenty rounds of ammunition into the home of this 26-year-old essential worker under the pretense of searching for a suspect that was already in police custody at the time of the heinous act. Breonna’s state sanctioned murder is a clear reflection of the immediate need for national reconstruction of policing and stronger enforcement of officer standards, training and accountability. Our siblings are being continuously slain by police. In a righteous and faithful step towards justice, we ask that you take action!
