The Women’s Enterprise Action Loan Fund is now the Women’s Enterprise Action Leadership Fund. While our name has changed, our mission remains the same: WEALF is committed to proving that age, zip code, and ethnicity are not barriers to accessing the resources needed to build a successful business.
WEALF supports women entrepreneurs who face systemic barriers to opportunity, providing interest-free capital, one-on-one mentoring, and a supportive community to help them thrive.
We’ve always understood that capital alone isn’t enough to nurture entrepreneurs. For the past ten years, every woman in our program has received a one-time, interest-free loan, and personalized mentoring from an experienced woman business professional. This powerful combination has helped women-owned businesses across New York grow, thrive, and lead. Our mentors continue to support their entrepreneurs long after the initial loan ends, providing leadership along the path to a sustainable business.
At the same time, we know access to capital remains critical. In 2025, WEALF surpassed $1 million in interest-free loans distributed to participants. We look forward to building on our successes in the future, reaching more women, and offering increased opportunities to learn and grow.
Our new name—Women’s Enterprise Action Leadership Fund—better reflects what we’re truly about: supporting and developing the next generation of women in business.
