When I was at West Point, I read a book that stayed with me throughout my entire military career: Once an Eagle by Anton Myrer.

It tells the story of two Army officers: one who chased rank and recognition, and one who put the mission and his fellow soldiers first.
That story stuck with me because it revealed a truth I’ve seen time and again: Real leadership is about selfless service.
After graduating, I joined the 82nd Airborne. As a platoon leader, I learned that true leadership means checking your soldiers' feet before your own, even after hours of marching under 80 pounds of gear. When you're in it together, you put your team first. Always.

I'm Dave McCormick. I'm a West Point grad, combat veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne, a 7th-generation Pennsylvanian, and last November I defeated an entrenched career politician in the #1 swing state of the 2024 election.
