[1]U.S. Senator Chris Murphy
Huge news from North Carolina: Gov. Roy Cooper is running for Senate.
This is the number one pick-up opportunity for Democrats in 2026, and there is no better candidate. Please help him launch his campaign as strong as possible by splitting a contribution between Roy Cooper and my mobilization project. I would not ask if this wasn’t important.

If you don’t know Roy, he’s one of the most humble public servants out there. He was raised in rural North Carolina, the kind of place Democrats have struggled to win, and the son of a public school teacher. He served the state as Attorney General and then Governor, winning six statewide elections in a row — twice sharing the ballot while Trump also won the state.
There is nobody better prepared to win a race as tough and expensive as this one. Period.
He’s the kind of person you want representing you in the Senate. He delivered Medicaid expansion, clean energy investments, and raises for teachers in the face of a corrupt, gerrymandered Republican majority. As one of the few Senators who’s successfully gotten bipartisan deals across the finish line in the last decade, that’s the kind of legislator I want fighting alongside me in Washington.
Like me, Roy is an optimist who believes in the promise of America, but he agrees that Washington today is broken. He’s running because, in his own words, “These are not ordinary times.”
He saw my Republican colleagues sell out working families to give tax cuts to billionaires. Trump and his cronies forced North Carolina’s incumbent, Thom Tillis, into retirement because he dared to vote against their cuts to Medicaid and food assistance.
Roy knows working people and North Carolina families need a champion in the Senate, so he’s all in.
But here’s the reality: this race is going to cost ungodly sums. I expect it will be the most expensive race in the history of North Carolina. Republicans are already attacking him, and their billionaires and super PACs will spend whatever it takes to cling to this seat.
So I am humbly asking you to have Roy’s back as a founding donor for his campaign. Please split a contribution between Roy and my mobilization project today to help us take back the majority and build progressive power in 2026.
Every best wish,
Chris
