Last week, the Republicans in the House passed a devastating $9 billion rescission bill that stripped away critical funding from public radio and television. Diana voted against it — because she knows what’s at stake for Colorado.

These cuts are already having an impact. Rocky Mountain PBS expects to lose $3 million a year. While Colorado Public Radio is preparing for a $1.5 million hit, nearly six percent of its total funding.

These losses threaten the very heart of public media in our state. From emergency alerts and local journalism to educational programs for kids, public broadcasting serves every corner of Colorado, especially rural and underserved communities.

But this fight isn't over.

Public radio stations across the state — including CPR, Aspen Public Radio, and KSUT Tribal Radio — are taking legal action to protect public broadcasting. Diana is standing with them, and she’s working in Congress to push back against these harmful cuts to protect the essential services public media provides
