Hi John,
A bare minimum requirement for being a federal judge should be a commitment to the law and Constitution. Otherwise, the courts can no longer serve as a meaningful check on the other two branches of government.
And yet, Emil Bove has been nominated for a lifetime seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, even though a whistleblower claims that Bove made statements that he was willing to ignore court orders in order to carry out Trump's deportation plans.
Someone demonstrating such a flippant disregard for the rule of law shouldn't be an attorney, let alone a sitting judge.
Bove's nomination was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee and he now faces a full vote in the Senate. It's critical that you tell your Senator to say NO to Emil Bove's nomination.
We deserve judges who will uphold their oath and serve as an independent branch of our government, not just a rubber stamp for the president.
