A new poll of 2,700 voters in five Western swing states shows Americans are looking forward to getting outside—but only with proper protections in place. The Center for Western Priorities' Winning the West 2020 Poll ([link removed]) asked voters about everything from conservation policy to coronavirus response and recovery plans. Among the key findings:
* Overwhelming majorities of voters support public land protections and conservation measures, including full funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund and protecting 30 percent of America's lands and waters
* Voters strongly support COVID stimulus measures for small businesses, farmers, and outdoor recreation, but oppose Trump administration policies bailing out oil, gas, and coal companies
* 7 out of 10 voters say that face coverings should be required to enter parks and trailheads when other people are around
* One third of voters say public lands issues are even more important to them after the pandemic
