I’m personally reaching out to you as DGA Chair for the first time this quarter because I have an urgent message for you: Democratic governors are the essential guardrails against extremism in the states, and we cannot deliver without input from grassroots supporters like you.

As we enter the second half of this year, with only a few short months until the first major elections since Donald Trump took office, I’m launching a brand new DGA Chair's Survey – and I’ve personally selected you to complete it, John. I want to know what you’d like to see Dem govs get done and what we should focus on right now. This is essential to informing our strategy, now more than ever. So please tell us:

What do you want to see Democratic governors focus on right now?

Earlier this month, Donald Trump enacted the most devastating piece of legislation that Americans have witnessed in generations. His extreme budget will rip away health care for over 17 million Americans, throw seniors out of nursing homes, kill good-paying jobs, force kids to go hungry, and explode the national deficit. Rural towns will be hit especially hard with hospital closures, jobs lost, and small businesses shuttered.

The GOP called it a big, beautiful bill, but what it really is is a big betrayal.

John, this isn’t about blue states and red states – this is about common sense. We cannot gut health care or let children go hungry in the name of giving tax breaks to the wealthy.

As Trump’s administration and the extremist Republican-led Congress devastate communities across the country, it is more important than ever to elect Democratic governors who are focused on improving the lives of working families – including in Virginia and New Jersey where we have competitive elections this year.

We need to make sure voters reject the extremist Republican candidates for governor who support Trump’s extreme budget and the rest of his agenda at the ballot box this November, in our 36 races in 2026, and beyond. That’s why I’m asking for your help today, John.
