As we draw nearer to Maine’s primary election, it’s important we draw a clear distinction between Sara Gideon and Betsy Sweet, the two Democratic front runners. Betsy’s the leading progressive in this race, and she’s running to get plans like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal through Congress, big ideas that her opponent Sara Gideon does NOT support.

On the major issues in this election, Sara Gideon is out of step with Mainers. Can you chip in right now to help elect Betsy Sweet? [[link removed]]

Polling shows that all Mainers – not just Democrats – support Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. And where is Sara Gideon on these issues? As the Bangor Daily News noted, “Gideon stopped short of backing the Green New Deal and Medicare-for-all”.

In the midst of a pandemic and a collapsing economy, millions of Americans have lost their health insurance. We need Medicare for All.

Pollution is poisoning the planet and decimating our tourism, farming and fishing. We need a Green New Deal.

Betsy is fighting for all Mainers and, unlike Susan Collins and Sara Gideon, she’s willing to implement real, progressive reform. Mainers don’t need any more empty promises, John. We need a Senator who will actually get things done.

We need a Senator willing and able to create progressive change in the Senate. Can you help Betsy get there with a contribution today? [[link removed]]

So the question becomes: where will you stand on primary day, John? Betsy has been advocating for working-class Mainers for forty years now. It’s time we send her to do the same in the Senate.

Rank Betsy as your first choice on July 14th and support her with a contribution today. [[link removed]]
