ICYMI: My colleagues and I got the House
Oversight Committee to pass a subpoena on the Epstein files last night.
As a survivor of sexual assault, I do not arrive at this issue lightly. I
am here to advocate for those victimized by Epstein and by whoever else is
being protected in those hidden files.
Mike Johnson tried to avoid voting on the release of the files by
completely shutting down the House. They wanted to prevent the truth from
coming out. We found a way to get the justice and transparency that the
victims of this case deserve.
Now, the Department of Justice must answer and deliver the unredacted
files to the House Oversight Committee.
[ [link removed] ]This is a pivotal moment, and we need to show that there’s strong,
public support for this. Will you add your name if you agree that the
Department of Justice and House Republicans must comply with this
subpoena?
I have always said that sunlight is the best disinfectant. The people
deserve to know why the Epstein files are still hidden and who is being
protected.
To those who see this as political gamesmanship, it is certainly not that.
To those who say that this is a distraction and are insisting that there’s
better things to be working on: No.
This is about the healing, transparency, and accountability that survivors
deserve.
[ [link removed] ]I’m going to stay on this for as long as it takes. If you’re with me,
add your name to show you support this subpoena passing, and expect the
Department of Justice and House Republicans to follow the law.
In solidarity,
Ayanna
