From my time leading the space industry in the Antelope Valley and as the NASA Chief of Staff under Obama, I have a unique perspective on bringing space to Congress.
And right now, I’m sounding the alarm on the MAGA assault on science, and in particular, our position in space.
The Trump Administration has proposed a
25% cut to NASA – making it the largest proposed cut to NASA in history. Make no mistake: This would gut the agency and directly harm our economy, national security, and international leadership.
Not only is NASA on the chopping block, this administration is looking to cut nearly half of the science budget. The enormity of these attacks cannot be overstated, and the impact would be catastrophic.
I’m fighting back as best as I can in my committees in Congress – on the Armed Services Committee, and on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee – but it’s clear after the fallout from Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill”, we need control of the House to put an end to the chaos.
