As Israel intensifies ground operations in central Gaza, civilians and aid
workers are caught in an increasingly untenable crisis.

Nearly 90% of Gaza is now under evacuation orders or in areas classified
as militarized zones, leaving families with nowhere safe to go. More than
1,000 people have been killed while seeking humanitarian aid since May, as
food, water, and fuel remain desperately scarce.

This week, Mercy Corps joined more than 100 other organizations in a
statement to demand that lifesaving aid safely reach all those in need
across Gaza. Right now, humanitarian assistance is nearly impossible to
deliver at the scale needed, as border crossings remain closed and access
to the few supplies that do arrive is fraught with danger. Basic services
are collapsing under the weight of a critical fuel shortage.

In Gaza and across the globe, families are experiencing some of the most
intense humanitarian crises of our time. In Sudan, millions of people are
facing starvation and unimaginable violence. And in Ukraine, families face
daily bomb threats on their way to work, school, or at home.

most dire crises and meet the needs of families and children who are most
impacted. With your support, we are:


  Supplying water and hygiene services. For nearly two years in Gaza,
families and children have been denied access to lifesaving aid,
  water, electricity, medical care, and other necessities. In the face
of other challenges preventing more aid from entering the region,
we’re distributing water so they can drink, cook, clean, and shower.
 
  Supporting communities against food insecurity. In Sudan, where
millions are on the brink of famine, the price of food like lentils,
  sugar, and wheat flour has doubled. Mercy Corps is distributing seeds,
fertilizer, and essential items to farmers to mitigate the cost of
food and provide better nutrition.
 
  Providing mental health services. In Ukraine, where violence has
destroyed homes, schools, and entire communities, children and
  families have endured prolonged fear and trauma. We’re providing art
therapy sessions for children to cope and helping mothers connect with
one another in the community.
