As a civil rights attorney, I represented 6,000 inmates at Georgia State Prison in Reidsville whose constitutional rights were being violated. A federal judge ruled in our favor — but every time we asked about progress, we were told the legislature hadn’t funded the improvements.
After three and a half years of excuses, I decided to run for the Georgia legislature myself — to deliver justice, not wait on it.
