Hi friend, it’s Kate.
Last week, I testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works to explain why federal support for local infrastructure projects is key to building safer streets, better systems, and a stronger future for the communities here in Phoenix. |
When I was recruiting a semiconductor manufacturer to plant its roots in Phoenix—in what would become our city’s largest economic development deal ever—I spoke about our commitment to making the necessary investments in our transportation infrastructure. That mattered. Phoenix’s growth is a testament to our dynamic and attractive economy, yet without federal funding, we would face challenges keeping up with our growing population and new businesses taking root here.
Federal funding is vital for us to complete large, complex transportation and infrastructure projects that improve safety, reduce congestion, and support economic growth.
That’s why I asked U.S. Senators to allocate more funding directly to cities so that mayors and city councils, the people closest to their constituents, can make these investments—and I certainly hope they will listen to my message.
As I have since I was elected mayor in 2019, I will always prioritize the needs and interests of the people of Phoenix. If you are with me in this mission, consider supporting my work today. Thank you, Mayor Kate Gallego
