In Washington, Republicans have slashed SNAP and Medicaid benefits, forced key government agencies to shutter, ended environmental protections, and taken other drastic measures that will impact all our NC communities.

Just last year, SNAP helped keep one in eight North Carolinians fed. And more than 670,000 more of our neighbors have been able to access health care through Medicaid since the expansion was enacted.

Now, all that and more is at risk thanks to the GOP’s new tax bill.

Meanwhile, the government is also hamstringing our clean energy economy, gutting environmental protections, and ending programs that protect infrastructure from natural disasters — while extreme storms tear through states from coast to coast. These actions are a threat to our state.
