Hi,

Today is World Mangrove Day. In the coastal villages of Bangladesh and India, families are planting trees that will save their homes from the next storm.

But these aren't just any trees. Through The Canopy Project, we're helping communities plant native mangrove species — trees that have evolved over centuries to thrive in saltwater and withstand extreme weather.

Will you help plant mangroves that protect families and fight climate change? <[link removed]>

Here's what makes our approach different: We don't plant and leave. Local families learn to tend these seedlings, monitor their growth, and protect them as they mature. Because when communities care for their own forests, the trees — and the benefits — last for generations.

The impact is immediate:

- Mangrove roots create natural barriers that reduce wave energy by up to 66%, protecting homes and farmland.1
- Healthy mangrove waters boost fish populations, directly increasing income for local fishermen.
- These coastal forests store massive amounts of carbon — up to 4 times more than inland forests.2

In our Bangladesh project, 60 families now have stronger shorelines, better fishing grounds, and trees that will protect their grandchildren from rising seas.3

Your gift to The Canopy Project plants native trees that grow economic opportunity alongside environmental protection. Will you help coastal communities build their own climate resilience? <[link removed]>

Together,

Kathleen Rogers
