Net neutrality is a huge issue—but media corporations like Comcast and AT&T won't cover it.

Friend,

Comcast and AT&T—the corporate owners of CNN and NBC—are huge opponents of net neutrality.

Is it any wonder, then, that there were exactly ZERO questions asked about net neutrality during the four Democratic presidential debates hosted by CNN and NBC?

That's right. Out of nearly 500 questions asked, not a single one was about net neutrality—the bedrock of a free and open internet.

In fact, the corporate news media has almost totally ignored net neutrality for years. In the weeks after Ajit Pai announced plans to repeal net neutrality, the three broadcast news stations devoted a total of TWO MINUTES to the issue.

This is just one example of how corporate consolidation of media distorts which issues the public hears about and what is strategically ignored. But as an independent, nonprofit news outlet, Common Dreams is free of influence from corporate overlords.

As a result, we're able to give issues like net neutrality the deep and sustained coverage they deserve. But we can only continue this work because of your support. We count on you to provide the resources we need to cover the costs of journalists' salaries, office expenses, web-hosting, and everything else that goes into running a cutting-edge journalistic enterprise.

Will you make a donation to help reach our Summer Campaign goal of raising $50,000 and support nonprofit, independent journalism?

We can't do it without you.
