Dear friend, Yesterday, Mikie reached out to share the news. And as a top supporter, I wanted to reach out to introduce myself to you personally as your Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor. I trace my journey in public service back to my childhood. My mother, a teacher, and my father, a Methodist minister, knew and marched with Dr. Martin Luther King. They instilled in me a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to giving back to my community.
I’ve spent my career challenging the status quo and lifting up the voices of those who have been silenced, whether it was as the founding executive director of the Newark Alliance, as a member of the New Brunswick Board of Education, as a pastor for the Covenant United Methodist Church in Plainfield, or as the 15th President of Centenary University. I’m thrilled to be joining the ticket with Mikie, a leader who is guided by her deep sense of service, an innovative approach to problem-solving, and unrelenting commitment to the people she serves. I’ve spent the last two years at Centenary working with brilliant young people in search of opportunity and the best of what New Jersey has to offer. I love helping them realize their potential and empowering them to strengthen and give back to their communities. I can’t wait to work alongside Mikie to build opportunity for the state I love. Sincerely, Dr. Dale Caldwell
